The UK list follows the common and botanical names used in the field guide
Wild Flowers of Britain and Northern Europe (Collins Pocket Guides) ,
which in turn follows the list approved by the Botanical Society of the British Isles.
For North American visitors: this guide is written for the UK, where some of the common, and a few botanical names are different from those used in North America.
Distribution details may also be biased for the UK, and timing slightly out of sync, though most of the featured plants are plants which grow throughout most of the temperate
northern hemisphere, and the guide can be used as is, with a few minor limitations. However, a N. American adapted guide will follow soon.
